Do you enjoy cooking and serving meals with friendly people?
Are you ready to make a difference in Culver City serving our unhoused neighbors?
Together: Partnering with our friends at the non-profit Grace Diner, we'll be supporting with sorting produce, baked goods, and other items. In addition, we will help with cooking & serving a delicious meal to our unhoused neighbors. Your presence and volunteering will help meet an immediate urgent need of a meal, while you share care and connection. Being friendly and ready to serve are the main requirements!
Why this project matters: Our unhoused neighbors will receive their choice of a warm meal, hot coffee, & water. People will line up to receive the meal and if they choose the provided baked goods, produce, and other assorted items received from Food Cycle. When we work with fellow volunteers to meet the urgent needs of people living outside, our entire community benefits.
Wear: Please wear clothes you don't mind getting some food or water on. Wear a hat and or pull your hat back if it's long. Wear closed-toe shoes and leave your jewelry and bags at home. If you've volunteered with us before, feel free to wear your Better Angels T-shirt to show your support!
Tools: We will provide all necessary supplies, such as gloves and hairnets.
Age: All ages are welcome. Teams with members younger than 16 will participate with their guardians, during the shift.
