Do you enjoy cooking and serving 4-course meals with friendly people?
Are you ready to make a difference in Woodland Hills serving our unhoused neighbors?
Together: Partnering with the non-profit New Friends Homeless Center, you'll be serving a delicious 4-course meal to our unhoused neighbors. New Friends will brief you on the courses that will be served that evening, which usually consist of soup or salad, an appetizer, a main course & a dessert, plus a drink of choice ( coffee, water, lemonade). Your presence and volunteering will help meet an immediate & urgent need for a meal and share care and connection. Being friendly and ready to serve are the main requirements!
Why this project matters: Our unhoused neighbors will receive a choice from a 4-course warm, freshly-cooked meal, hot coffee, water, lemonade ( or similar drink). Guests will be primarily indoors in a dining room. When we work with fellow volunteers to meet the urgent needs of people living outside, our entire community benefits.
Wear: Please wear clothes you don't mind getting some food or drink on. Wear a hat and or pull your hat back if it's long. Wear closed-toe shoes and leave your jewelry and bags at home. If you've volunteered with us before, feel free to wear your Better Angels T-shirt to show your support!
Tools: New Friends will provide all necessary supplies.
Age: All ages are welcome. Teams with members younger than 16 will participate with their guardians, during the shift.

- After: Share your experience with the onsite volunteer coordinator and find other ways you'd like to serve.
