Who We Are
Together we are:
Meeting urgent needs for local livability
*Serving our neighbors at warm, welcoming resource days where guests enjoy food, music, and art while connecting to shelter, housing, benefits, and healthcare.
*Supporting local groups distributing food and connecting people to care, jobs, and housing
Preventing homelessness
- Sharing our 0% interest micro-loan program for neighbors facing eviction (thestepfund.org)
- Collaborating on local roommate matching
Advocating for a better future
- Researching and communicating our needs and goals
- Planning with neighbors for housing we need
- Supporting city, state, and national actions that will help end the crisis of homelessness
What We Do
Easy and fulfilling opportunities to volunteer locally or at home
There are many ways to get involved. We offer ongoing positions for community leaders, faith community liaisons, high-school engagement leads, resource partnership leads, eviction-prevention loan marketing, and local communications.
For those just getting their feet wet (or hands dirty!), you can join in with events when it suits your schedule with no additional training or requirements needed! For every event, we have opportunities for one-time or short-term roles, including event planning, event marketing, social media posting and engagement, event hosting, event photography, and event communications. Many events also need a supplies and tools organizer and or a driver. Every event also needs people to join the activity, from picking up trash to creating meal bags or delivering safety instructions.
We are neighbors that are working together to meet urgent needs and create a more livable city
Transforming our communities will take all of us. Money isn't enough; neither is hoping that someone else will solve issues we all see. When we all serve together, we make a tangible difference in our neighborhoods. Experts. Skilled Labor. Leaders. First Responders. Ambitious Young People. Retirees. Students.
Solving homelessness together in the South West Valley needs all of us, which means we need YOU.
