Do you enjoy cooking and serving breakfast with friendly people?
Are you ready to make a difference in Santa Monica serving our unhoused neighbors?
Together: Partnering with the non-profit Hand to Hand, we'll be cooking and serving a delicious meal to our unhoused neighbors. Your presence and volunteering will help meet an immediate urgent need of a meal and share care and connection. Being friendly and ready to serve are the main requirements!
Why this project matters: Our unhoused neighbors will receive their choice of a warm, freshly-cooked breakfast burrito and hot coffee, indoors in a dining room. When we work with fellow volunteers to meet the urgent needs of people living outside, our entire community benefits.
Wear: Please wear clothes you don't mind getting some food or water on. Wear a hat and or pull your hat back if it's long. Wear closed-toe shoes and leave your jewelry and bags at home. If you've volunteered with us before, feel free to wear your Better Angels T-shirt to show your support!
Tools: We will provide all necessary supplies.
Age: All ages are welcome. Teams with members younger than 14 will participate with their guardians, during the 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. shift.
