Miracle Friends matches individuals experiencing homelessness with volunteers for weekly phone calls and texts to check-in and say hello.
Why your volunteering time matters:
Research data shows the Miracle Friendship program has had a positive effect on volunteers and friends alike. Volunteers enjoy making a difference, and unhoused participants report feeling a sense of connection and an enjoyable experience speaking with volunteers.

What you'll do:
Your role as a volunteer is to offer general companionship and support.
- Miracle Friends is 100% virtual and remote. Volunteers can be anywhere in the world
- Attend virtual kickoff orientation (30 minutes)
- Every Wednesday 12p-12:30p PT
- Alternate times upon request
- Make an ongoing time commitment of 30 minutes per week of either calls and/or texts with your unhoused friend
- Attend weekly group trainings and support calls (optional)
- Log your calls in our volunteer dashboard

Miracle Messages is an award-winning nonprofit organization that rebuilds social support systems for our unhoused neighbors, including through family reunification services and the Miracle Friends phone-based buddy system. Miracle Messages’ mission is to end relational poverty on the streets, and in the process, inspire people to embrace their unhoused neighbors not as problems to be solved, but as people to be loved.
