Together: We'll be cleaning up the river banks and sidewalks. Your presence will help create a cleaner, safer environment for our community.
Why this project matters: Having lots of trash around is bad for everyone in our communities - unhoused and housed. When we work with fellow volunteers to meet the urgent needs of people living outside, our entire community benefits.
Meeting Details:
Address 4031 Colfax Ave 4030 Colfax Avenue Los Angeles, CA 91604
Enter through the Colfax “C” Gate at 4031 Colfax Avenue. The guard will have your name; let them know you’re meeting the cleanup group in the Multi-Purpose Room. We will provide a snack and some drinks.
Wear: Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. If you've volunteered with us before, feel free to wear your Better Angels T-shirt to show your support!
Tools: We will provide trash bags, and gloves if you need them.
Age: All ages are welcome. Teams with members younger than 14 will participate via planting.
What We Will Do
- Join the Better Angel group. Look for our light blue T-shirts and our light blue sign.
- Sign in
- We'll meet up and chat about our plan to clean up.
- Get the tools, gloves, and trash bags you'll need.
- Drive or walk in small groups to areas to pick up trash, respecting street residents' privacy. We only pick up items that don't belong to anyone.
- After: Return to our meeting spot to share cold drinks, connect, and talk about your experience and other volunteer opportunities
- Later: Join a special tour of Radford Studios just for event volunteers.
