Are you ready to make a difference in Culver City by serving our neighbors?
Together: We are partnering with the non-profit Grace Diner to organize and host a resource day for Grace Diner's unhoused community . We love the work they have been doing to help provide resources and support for our vulnerable and unhoused neighbors.
What: Being friendly and ready to serve are the main requirements!
Why this project matters: Our unhoused neighbors will be able to access service and alleviate their suffering.
When we work with fellow volunteers to meet the urgent needs of neighbors and connect everyone to vital resources, our entire community benefits.
Wear: Please wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty. Wear closed-toe shoes and leave your jewelry and bags at home. If you've volunteered with us before, feel free to wear your Better Angels T-shirt to show your support!
Tools: We will provide all necessary supplies.
Age: All ages are welcome. We will have family-friendly activities. Volunteers younger than 15 stay with their adult.
What We Will Do
- Share a light lunch with other volunteers: 1:00 - 1:30 p.m.
- Set up tables, chairs, crafts, and decor: 01:30- 2:30 p.m.
- Set up & manage games: 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Help organize crafts and art: 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Welcome guests - answer questions and assist with connecting them to the provided resources: 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Take down decorations and decor and load the van: 5 -5:30 p.m.
Note - we have expanded our shift times from prior months. If you need to come help for a shorter amount of time, please sign up and note your preferences in your response.

- Tables/ chairs set up
- Charging station set up
- Community dining space prep ( Coffee station, water, Lemonade
- Decor set up
- Servers ( Food and Drinks)
- Guest Greeter/Counter ( Greet, direct, and count how many guests are entering the building)
- Guest Belonging Attendant ( Making sure guests know where they can leave their items attended and the volunteer will make sure items are not stolen)
- Hygiene Distributor
- Performer - sing and play music
- Offer Haircuts
- Provide Clothing Boutique
- Safe Parking - Share safe parking opportunities with guests living in vehicles
- Documentarian ( Photographer of the event while keeping guest dignity as the top priority - cover volunteers and the work they are doing)
- Activity or Art Coordinator
