Why this work matters
While we have other initiatives and efforts to prevent and support our neighbors, new affordable housing is the deepest need. Better Angels has launched a Real Estate Investment Fund to fund new housing, and has an active project now. Everything we do returns to engaging the community, and this is the same!
With just a few hours, you will make a real impact in your city as you step up with Better Angels to spread awareness about affordable housing and healthcare in the heart of Larchmont Village/Hancock Park/Windsor Square. Let’s walk, talk, get input, and plan to uplift the voices that matter most—our neighbors.
This community is at a turning point. Your presence helps us gather feedback, build trust, create awareness, and ensure residents feel informed and included in changes coming to their neighborhood. You’re not just handing out flyers—you’re helping shape the future of Crenshaw.
Your Key Attributes for this Role:
• Are friendly, approachable, and ready to engage with the community
• Believe in housing justice and public health for all
• Are confident sharing key info and answering questions
• Can show up with respect, inclusion, and heart
• (Bonus) Speak Spanish or Korean—it’s a huge help, but not required!
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll join a volunteer team walking and talking (together) in a 1-mile area near Larchmont Village/Hancock Park/Windsor Square. You will:
• Knock on doors with a purpose
• Talk to residents, listen, and share what’s coming
• Gather feedback so we can respond to the community's voice - needs, desires, and concerns.
• Pass out flyers about our new affordable housing project
• Staff tables in high-traffic spots to share information and ask people to take a short survey.
When Will You Do This?
Our group will meet the week of 6/10 and then set up based on availability to talk to neighbors over the next several weeks.
