Want to help reduce food waste and feed the hungry? If so then this opportunity is for you.
What's Needed?:
Pick up of bagels, cheese, and various other pastries from Santa Monica bakeries and deliver to companies who can use it such as;
- Salvation Army ( 4th St.)
- St. Robert's - (3rd Ave Venice )
- St. Monica Church ( California Ave)
- Ocean Park Community Center
- Recreation Centers
- Fire Response sites, etc
Where to pick up?
7 locations ( 4 hours of volunteer work) with pick up times available below. Most of them are on the same street or neighboring streets. If you can only do an hours worth of work, please let me know what #'s below you are able to fulfill.
What You'll Need:
- You will need a vehicle with available trunk or back seat space available in order to hold the bagged items.
- Be able to lift up to 10lbs
- Smile and willingness to support :)
Locations:
1. Tartine (2903 Lincoln Blvd Suite 110 Santa Monica, Ca 90405)
Time: 2:50pm
Instructions: Walk in and say you are here for pick up extras for Pasquale. You can ask for Taylor the manager as well.
2. Tartine (1925 Arizona Ave Santa Monica, CA 90404)
Time: 3:55pm - 4:10 pm ( but not earlier than 3:50pm)
Instructions: To collect the food it will be in paper bags right inside the kitchen door on the side of the building or on the steps outside the side kitchen door. There is a ramp on the steps of the kitchen in a large parking lot.
3. Go Get Em Tiger ( 930 Montana Ave Santa Monica, Ca 90403)
Time: 4:20pm - 4:25pm
Instructions: Walk inside and say that you are picking up extras on behalf for Pasquale. You may need to tap on window if they don't see you initially.
4. Modern Bread & Bagels (1511Montana Ave Santa Monica, CA 90403)
Time: 5pm
Instructions: At 5pm, they usually have items ready to go since they are about closing. You can say you are picking up on behalf of Pasquale.
5. B&T Plant Based Deli (912 Montana Ave Santa Monica, Ca 90403)
Time: 5pm - 5:20pm
Instructions: Back of the deli in the parking lot. The kitchen door should be open.
6. Andrew's Cheese Shop ( 728 Montana Ave Santa Monica, Ca 90403)
Time: between 5:30pm - 6pm ( no later than 6 pm)
Instructions: Walk in and say you are picking up extras on behalf of Pasquale.
7. La La Land Kind Cafe (1426 Montana Ave Santa Monica, Ca 90403)
Time: 6:45 pm - 7 pm
Instructions: Walk in and say you are picking up extras on behalf of Pasquale. Be careful if there are overnight oats, as they may leak if tipped over.
