Are you ready to contribute positivity and love in Palms?
Together: We will be working with the Culver Palms Burrito Project to make and then deliver delicious burritos to our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Why this project matters: A warm, homemade meal isn't just meeting an immediate need by satisfying hunger. Making and then delivering a delicious and nutritious burrito with a bottle of water shows someone we care about and want to connect with and support. When we work with fellow volunteers to meet the urgent needs of people living outside, our entire community benefits.
Wear: Please wear comfortable clothes you can cook and then walk in. If you've volunteered with us before, feel free to wear your Better Angels T-shirt to show your support! Bring an apron if you like, and either a hat or a hairnet is appropriate for kitchen work. Leave expensive jewelry, including rings at home.
Tools: We will provide any of the functional items needed for cooking as well as ingredients.
Age: All ages are welcome. Teams with members younger than 14 will participate with a parent or guardian.
What We Will Do
- Join the Culver Palms Church of Christ and Better Angels. Look for the kitchen doors which will be on the side of the building facing the street (Delmas Terrace). Go down the stairs, you will enter the brown doors on the left.
- Parking is available in front of the church
- Sign in and receive instructions for your shift.
- Work together in the kitchen to make burritos.
- Go out in teams, driving to serve a burrito and bottle of water to hungry neighbors.
