Role Overview
As part of our mission to end the epidemic of homelessness, we seek Strategy Consultants with strong expertise in operations strategy, process engineering, change management, project management, communication, system design, or reporting. Your role will focus on designing and implementing a streamlined Shelter Booking System that will improve access and efficiency in connecting individuals to available shelters. Some Key Tasks You Might Do
Landscape Mapping - Research and Discovery
- Conduct a thorough assessment of existing shelter-finding and matching processes in the community.
- Research best practices and tools used by similar organizations to gain insights that can inform the Shelter Booking System design.
- Identify gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities within the current landscape to guide system development and ensure it meets real needs.
System Strategy Development
- Develop a comprehensive strategy to guide the design and deployment of a Shelter Booking System.
- Identify and map out key system requirements, challenges, and goals for maximum effectiveness.
Operations and Process Engineering
- Analyze and optimize shelter booking processes to ensure a user-friendly and reliable experience for both users and shelter staff.
- Engineer a workflow that minimizes delays, maximizes capacity, and meets the unique needs of various shelter facilities.
Pilot Shelter Matching System at Resource Days
- Test the proposed Shelter Matching System in real-world settings during community Resource Days.
- Collect feedback and observe user interactions to identify areas for refinement and further development.
Project Management and Change Management
- Coordinate with our team and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Create change management plans to facilitate the adoption of the new system and ensure staff training and buy-in.
Communication and Reporting
- Establish a clear communication plan to keep stakeholders informed throughout the project’s lifecycle.
- Develop reporting mechanisms to measure the system’s effectiveness, track usage data, and assess areas for continuous improvement.
Helpful Experience and Desired Skills
- Expertise in operations strategy, process engineering, project management, change management, reporting or related fields.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in designing systems or processes for high-impact environments.
- Experience with project management tools, Monday.com or Jira s a plus.
- Passion for social justice, with a commitment to addressing local homelessness and improving lives.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
