From building better volunteer tools to enhancing our digital outreach, our tech team helps power the infrastructure behind every program we run. As a Project Manager – Tech Initiatives, you’ll be the force that keeps our tech projects organized, on schedule, and aligned with the mission. You’ll work directly with volunteer developers and nonprofit staff to turn real-world needs into streamlined digital solutions.

Role Overview

As the Volunteer Project Manager – Tech Initiatives, you’ll guide volunteer-led sprints, manage priorities, and translate big goals into actionable plans. Whether it’s a new onboarding portal, a streamlined CRM setup, or a custom scheduling tool, your leadership will help us deliver real solutions for real people.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and excited to use their project management skills to help build nonprofit infrastructure that makes a difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee timelines, deliverables, and priorities for internal tech projects

  • Team Facilitation: Coordinate meetings, plan sprints, and keep volunteer dev teams in sync

  • Documentation & Tools: Maintain project docs, Trello boards, and Notion dashboards

  • Strategic Translation: Turn nonprofit needs into clear, developer-friendly tasks and goals

Helpful Qualifications

  • Experience managing digital, web, or software development projects

  • Comfortable using Trello, GitHub, Notion, or other project tracking tools

  • Familiar with agile/sprint processes and working with volunteer or cross-functional teams

  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and mission-aligned

Better Angels is a nonprofit organization dedicated to curing homelessness by building community and opportunity. Through innovative programs, digital tools, and human-centered outreach, we help individuals find stability and connection, while also growing the systems that support them.

Time Commitment

Approximately 3-5 hours per month. Flexible, remote. We ask for a minimum 3-month commitment.
