At Better Angels, we believe community is the cure to our homelessness crisis. Our mission is rooted in compassion, connection, and long-term solutions. One of the ways we create change is by building open-source software applications to support people working to support and house our homeless neighbors.
We rely on talented, mission-aligned volunteers to power our Tech Mentorship and Workforce Access Program. As a Volunteer Tech Recruiter, you’ll help us source, screen, and engage passionate mentors, junior technologists, and industry professionals who want to use their experience for good. Your work ensures that our participants are supported by a strong and diverse volunteer network, ultimately helping to close opportunity gaps and build equity in tech.
Role Overview
As a Volunteer Tech Recruiter, you will help grow our team of volunteers by identifying and engaging mentors, developers, and other tech professionals with the needed experience who want to give back. You’ll build relationships with tech networks, streamline the onboarding process, and partner with our program leads to make sure we’re bringing in the right support at the right time.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in recruiting, HR, or workforce development who wants to create real impact through intentional relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Sourcing: Identify and recruit tech volunteers, including mentors, junior technologists, and developers

Relationship Building: Cultivate connections with professional associations, coding bootcamps, tech organizations, and affinity groups

Pipeline Management: Maintain an organized onboarding process and talent pipeline for program needs

Collaboration: Work closely with program leads to assess volunteer needs and align recruitment efforts
Helpful Qualifications

Time Commitment
Approximately 3-5 hours per month. Flexible schedule. Remote opportunity. We ask for a minimum 3-month commitment.
